Our Star

Our Star

The next time you find yourself underneath our beautiful night sky, take a moment to look up. 💫 Make a wish, say a prayer, or just take it all in.

The stars were going to be the decor theme of our nursery, a seemingly random thing I picked. Now...nothing could be a more perfect symbol of our love and our loss. Now the stars are a beautiful reminder of our little baby boy, Calvin William. I have always loved the stars, and how they remind me that we are so small in this universe. That there is so much more to this life. And now they also provide me with another sense of comfort and peace.
💫💫💫
We are so thankful to have amazing friends and family in our lives, and are overwhelmed with all the support we have received in many different ways. We are so thankful for such a large circle of people who are loving & supporting us, but the greatness of your love also means that each and every one of you is grieving this loss with us. I wanted to share a couple things we have been gifted in memory of Calvin William, in the hopes that it may bring you some comfort as well.

💫 Jordy and Theresa designed this beautiful canvas that features what the night sky looked like on the night of his delivery. I know how much love and care was put into creating this beautiful piece of artwork. We will treasure it forever. Look closely to find the Little Dipper in the map of stars...

💫 Deanna, Jamie, and family have gifted us a star in the Ursa Minor constellation. The Pherkad star, one of the brightest in the constellation, has been dedicated in memory of our Calvin William. This is a particularly special constellation to us. Over the years out at the property, we have spent many nights gazing at the stars. The Big Dipper is always easily spotted, and then it becomes a fun little challenge for Travis and I to location the Little Dipper. The first night looking at the stars after knowing about this gift, the Little Dipper practically leapt out of the sky at us. It was amazing. Now wherever we are in the world, we can always look to the night sky and find our little star.
💫💫💫
So the next time you find yourself underneath the stars, look for our special star. Think of us, think of Calvin William, and thank God for your beautiful life. 💫
